Millions of Americans are set to receive their next Social Security payment on Wednesday, July 22, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) continues its regular monthly payment schedule. The upcoming deposit applies to a specific group of retirement, survivor, and disability beneficiaries whose birthdays fall during the final part of the month.

Who Will Get A Social Security Payment On July 22?
The July 22 payment is scheduled for beneficiaries who:

- Were born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If you fall into this category and receive your payments through direct deposit, your benefit should arrive on Wednesday unless your financial institution processes deposits differently.
Why Payments Are Sent On Different Dates
The SSA doesn’t send all Social Security payments on the same day.
Instead, most beneficiaries receive payments based on their birth date:
- July 8: Birthdays from the 1st to the 10th
- July 15: Birthdays from the 11th to the 20th
- July 22: Birthdays from the 21st to the 31st
However, there are exceptions.

Recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) already received their July payment on July 1.
There’s another important calendar change coming soon. Because August 1, 2026, falls on a Saturday, the SSA will send August SSI benefits early on Friday, July 31. That means eligible SSI recipients will receive two SSI deposits during July, but no separate SSI payment in August. It’s an early payment—not an extra benefit.
What To Do If Your Payment Doesn’t Arrive
Most Social Security benefits are paid electronically through direct deposit, and payments usually arrive on schedule.
If your expected payment doesn’t appear on your scheduled date, the SSA recommends waiting three additional business days before contacting the agency or your financial institution, as processing times can vary.
