Prime Video’s Off Campus is returning with a different couple at the center of its story. Season 1 followed Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, but the next chapter will spotlight Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes. Amazon confirmed the direction in its September 11, 2026 update, giving the adaptation a clear path forward as it moves beyond the first couple’s romance.
The decision draws on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Off Campus novels, although the television adaptation has already changed details from the books. Dean and Allie’s relationship has been introduced on screen, and Season 2 will give their romance a much larger role. The focus is confirmed; how closely the show follows the novel remains to be seen.
All Eight Scripts Were Already Written by Mid-May
Season 2’s writing was well advanced before the first season premiered. In an interview conducted before the May 13, 2026 premiere and published by Us Weekly on May 16, co-creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy said, “We have all eight scripts written.” She added that two scripts had been given to the actors and the writers’ room had finished its work.
Levy also explained that completed scripts could still be adjusted. The team had a plan for the season, but the adaptation process left room for changes. Her comments establish that all eight scripts were written before the debut season launched, even though the interview itself appeared three days after the premiere. That distinction matters when describing the production timeline.
Why Dean and Allie Are the Next Couple
Dean and Allie’s romance comes from The Score, the third novel in Kennedy’s Off Campus series. Dean is a confident hockey player accustomed to getting attention, while Allie is navigating her own ambitions and a complicated romantic life. Their personalities create a different dynamic from Hannah and Garrett’s relationship, giving the series a new emotional center for its second season.
The television adaptation does not have to reproduce every scene from the book to preserve that central relationship. Season 1 already made changes to the source material, including how some characters interact and how their relationships develop. The question now is how the writers will balance recognizable moments from The Score with the continuity established in the first season.
Ella Bright’s Interview Offered an Early Hint
Before Amazon publicly confirmed the couple, Ella Bright appeared to hint at the direction during an interview with Variety. In its May 18 report, Just Jared said Bright smiled and nodded when asked whether Season 2 would center on Dean and Allie.
That reaction attracted attention because the book series follows a different order of romances, making Logan and Grace another possible direction for the adaptation. Bright’s response was a hint, not an official announcement. Amazon’s September update subsequently confirmed that Allie and Dean would lead the season.
Three New Cast Members Join the Series
Amazon’s official Season 2 update names three additions to the cast: India Fowler as Grace Ivers, Phillipa Soo as Scarlett, and Shay Rudolph as Summer Di Laurentis, Dean’s sister. Scarlett is a theatre director who visits Briar University to direct an original play, adding a new character to the university’s creative world.
Returning cast members include Mika Abdalla as Allie Hayes, Stephen Kalyn as Dean Di Laurentis, Ella Bright as Hannah Wells, Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham, Antonio Cipriano as John Logan, and Jalen Thomas Brooks as John Tucker. Josh Heuston, Khobe Clarke, and Steve Howey are also listed among the returning cast.
Louisa Levy and Gina Fattore remain co-creators and co-showrunners, with both also serving as executive producers. Their continued involvement gives the series creative continuity as it moves to another couple’s story.
Season 2 Has Wrapped Filming, but the Premiere Date Is Unknown
According to Production List’s Season 2 entry, the series was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, with the shooting schedule running through September 2026. The listing was updated on October 2 and identifies the show as being in post-production, with principal photography completed.
Production List suggests a possible May 2027 premiere window, but Prime Video has not officially announced a release date. That estimate should not be treated as a confirmed schedule. The next major update viewers can rely on will need to come from Prime Video itself.
For now, Season 2 has a confirmed central couple, a returning ensemble, three announced cast additions, and completed scripts that were already in place before Season 1 premiered. Dean and Allie’s romance will lead the next chapter, while the exact premiere date and the extent of the show’s changes to The Score remain open questions.
