Netflix is continuing to expand the cast of One Piece Season 3, and the latest additions bring four important Alabasta characters into the live-action series.
Emilio Sakraya has been cast as Koza, Omid Abtahi will play Toto, Jamie Ward will portray Pell, and Nabeel Khan has been cast as Chaka. Netflix confirmed the four recurring roles in an August 23 announcement on Tudum, giving fans their first official look at who will bring these Alabasta favorites to life.
The casting is another major indication of how extensively Netflix is adapting the Alabasta storyline for live action. The four characters are closely connected to the kingdom’s rebellion, royal forces and political conflict, making them important pieces of the story surrounding Princess Vivi and Sir Crocodile.
Who Is Playing the New Alabasta Characters?
Netflix’s latest casting announcement introduces four actors to the One Piece live-action universe:
- Emilio Sakraya as Koza — Koza is closely connected to Vivi and plays an important role in the rebellion threatening Alabasta.
- Omid Abtahi as Toto — Toto is one of the people caught up in the kingdom’s worsening crisis and is connected to the desert settlement of Yuba.
- Jamie Ward as Pell — Pell is one of Alabasta’s most prominent royal guards and serves directly under the kingdom’s royal family.
- Nabeel Khan as Chaka — Chaka is another key member of Alabasta’s royal guard and one of the kingdom’s strongest defenders.
Netflix confirmed that all four actors will appear in recurring roles in Season 3.
Their casting fills in some of the most recognizable supporting roles from the Alabasta storyline and gives the upcoming season a considerably larger ensemble beyond the Straw Hat Pirates.

The new additions are important because Alabasta’s conflict is much bigger than Luffy and his crew simply fighting another enemy.

Netflix’s official Season 3 synopsis describes the story as a brewing war in Alabasta, with the rebellion secretly fueled by Crocodile and Baroque Works. The Straw Hats must ultimately confront the civil war and Crocodile in an attempt to save Vivi’s kingdom.
That makes these four casting choices more than simple additions to the supporting cast. They help establish the different sides of the Alabasta conflict that the season will need to portray.
The Rest of the Season 3 Cast Is Taking Shape
The four new actors join an increasingly large ensemble for One Piece Season 3.
The returning Straw Hat cast includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Charithra Chandran is also returning as Princess Vivi.
Season 3 will also feature several previously announced additions. Xolo Maridueña is playing Portgas D. Ace, while Cole Escola has been cast as Bon Clay. Daisy Head will portray Miss Doublefinger, and Awdo Awdo will play Mr. 1. Joe Manganiello is returning as Mr. 0, while Lera Abova returns as Miss All Sunday.
With the Alabasta royal guard, rebellion and Baroque Works all being represented in the cast, Netflix is now assembling the characters needed to bring the arc’s larger conflict to the screen.

The casting news also confirms just how central Alabasta will be to the next chapter.
Netflix officially titled the third season One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, with new episodes scheduled to arrive in 2027. TVLine reported the title and release year when Netflix first revealed the season’s direction in April.
The announcement described the upcoming story as one centered on Alabasta’s brewing civil war, Vivi’s struggle to save her homeland and Crocodile’s attempt to take control of the kingdom through Baroque Works.
For longtime One Piece fans, that means Season 3 is adapting one of the most significant stories from the early Grand Line portion of the manga.
The addition of Sakraya, Abtahi, Ward and Khan makes that adaptation considerably clearer. Netflix isn’t simply announcing that Alabasta is coming — it is now putting names and faces to the people who make the kingdom’s conflict work.
