Avengers: Doomsday Brings Together Marvel’s Wildest Team Yet Against Doctor Doom
Marvel Studios is assembling one of the most unpredictable and powerful Avengers lineups ever in Avengers: Doomsday, with Sam Wilson officially stepping forward as the new leader of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against the growing threat of Doctor Doom. In December 2025, Avengers team was teased at Disney’s Giornate Di Cinema Sorrento presentation in Italy.

Following the events of Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson fully embraces his role as Captain America, moving beyond Steve Rogers’ shadow and becoming the emotional and strategic center of the Avengers. Unlike his predecessor, Sam has no Super Soldier Serum, relying instead on skill, Wakandan technology, and his ability to unite heroes across every power level. After fighting through Sokovia, Wakanda, and the final war against Thanos, Wilson is now tasked with leading the MCU’s newest generation into a multiversal crisis unlike anything seen before.
Joaquin Torres / Falcon
By Sam’s side is Joaquin Torres, the MCU’s new Falcon and one of the youngest members of the roster. After recovering from the injuries he suffered in Brave New World, Torres enters Doomsday as Sam’s trusted wingman, handling aerial support, reconnaissance, and tactical operations. Though still inexperienced, the young hero represents the future of the Avengers and the next generation carrying the legacy forward.
Thor
The team’s greatest source of raw power remains Thor, the final active pillar of the original Avengers lineup. After years of cosmic battles and personal growth, Thor returns stronger than ever, armed once again with Mjolnir and unmatched experience from wars against Hela, Ultron, Thanos, and Gorr the God Butcher. Loki
Loki’s inclusion may be the biggest surprise of all. Once the villain who brought the Avengers together during the Battle of New York, the former God of Mischief now returns as one of the MCU’s most powerful beings after the events of Loki. Having sacrificed his freedom to protect the multiverse as the “God of Stories,” Loki now possesses unmatched knowledge of timelines, alternate realities, and cosmic instability. His return strongly suggests Doctor Doom’s plans are severe enough to threaten the entire multiverse itself. Alongside Thor, Loki gives the Avengers both mystical power and vital understanding of the chaos ahead.
Ant-Man
Meanwhile, Scott Lang brings a completely different advantage to the battlefield. Ant-Man’s experience with the Quantum Realm and time travel makes him one of the team’s most important scientific assets. After helping the Avengers reverse the Blip in Avengers: Endgame and surviving the Quantum Realm’s war against Kang the Conqueror, Scott now plays a crucial role in understanding the dimensional chaos surrounding Doctor Doom. Shang-Chi
